It questions how our accustomed aurality prevents us from listening to emergent voices and noises around
us. Feminist new materialism is combined with critical readings of information theories to examine and undo the
negentropic exclusion of noise for knowledge production.
Noise causes reverberations not only because of its contribution to information, but also because of its unavoidability as an
interference pattern. Due to Western modernity‘s one-sided interpretation of agency, noise's affectivity has been rendered
dismissable. Western metaphysics has suppressed, distorted, or declared to be incomprehensible interferences that must
therefore be taken into account if noise is to be both a destructive and creative force.
Even if reverberating interferences are perceived as but noisy signals, their material-affectivity shifts the affordance of
response/i/ability. Thus, it is argued that noise fundamentally contributes to the frequencies of meaning/mattering for the
pressing tasks of un/learning.
2022-05-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Monika Jaeckel http://www.ijshe.info/index.php/ijshe/article/view/42 MEANINGFUL GENERAL SCIENCE LEARNING EXPERIENCE AND ITS RELEVANCY TO THE REAL-WORLD IN UPPER SECONDARY LEVEL CURRICULUM 2022-12-19T09:55:01+00:00 Mohd Razimi Husin razimi@fpm.upsi.edu.my Adibah Abu Bakar razimi@fpm.upsi.edu.my Hishamuddin Ahmad razimi@fpm.upsi.edu.my Muhammad Bazlan Mustafa razimi@fpm.upsi.edu.my Ismail Yusuf Panessai razimi@fpm.upsi.edu.my Ramlan razimi@fpm.upsi.edu.my
This paper presents the meaningful of general science learning content that related to daily lives and its preliminary
relationships for career choice. The scope of the study involves former upper secondary level students who take general
science in the Malaysian Certificate of Education. This study involves the content of form 4 and 5 general science subjects.
This study uses a qualitative approach which involves interviews that are analyse using Nvivo software. A qualitative
approach uses phenomenological design to recall former students’ experiences of meaningful science learning content.
Twelve experience workers were selected through purposeful sampling who had enrolled for general science in Malaysian
Certificate of Education level. The results show that there are respondents who obtained very good examination results
were less able to take advantage of the subject because most of higher learning institutions tend to choose students who
have biology or more relevant subjects in certain courses. There is a lot of learning content that is beneficial for them to use
upon graduation and related to daily life and jobs. Content of general science subjects that are meaningful and important in
daily life are elements and material, and emergency help for form 4 syllabus and nutrition and food technology for form 5
syllabus. This study produces a framework table related to content, learning strategy and work-related for the use of
educators in utilizing the subject in designing teaching methods, fostering students' career aspirations and as early ideas in
formulating policies related to the curriculum.
2022-05-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Mohd Razimi Husin, Adibah Abu Bakar, Hishamuddin Ahmad, Muhammad Bazlan Mustafa, Ismail Yusuf Panessai, Ramlan
